It’s that time again…Poll Time!!! Woo hoo!!! So excited!
It’s that time again…Poll Time!!! Woo hoo!!! So excited!
Vaults – they will be numbered. If there is loot in them they will have a password. Vaults will be re-used so don’t tell others where you find them. (not a rule…just will make it less fun…) And you may want to write down where you find any in your travels…hint … hint…
When/if you find a vault with a password – msg an admin in discord and we’ll give you a pin to open the vault. Once you empty it, the password will be removed and the pin will be reset, until its filled again.
All vaults will be filled once…some vaults will be filled more than once. You can claim each vault only once.
Dinos – will be spawned at lvl 155. If you find a special dino and you want it, you call out the co-ords and it’s your responsibility to tame it. You knock it out or do the passive tame. The admins will provide the best food for the tame.
*If you find a vault while Canavar and Sinyk are offline, you will need to pm Sinyk in Discord with the password. The first person to pm me will receive the pin when I wake-up/log in.*
Well folks it’s been a little while since the site has been updated and I apologize that. I’ve been sick for the last month or so … plus I started a new job at the beginning of the year. Ok…enough with the excuses. Here’s what’s going on over the course of the next week.
We’re changing our Server Hosting on the morning of Wednesday 5/24. All we’re doing is moving the saved file from our current hosting to the new company. THIS IS NOT A WIPE. I REPEAT…THIS IS NOT A WIPE!
So. We will be leaving the Message of the Day up on the existing server and making it last an obnoxiously long time. So that hopefully we lose as few people as possible. Because…well we do this for the community after all. (blech…I know)
So what does this mean for you? Well the only change is the IP Address will be 18.104.22.168:27073 and log in there instead of the current IP. Easy – peasy. Your character will be there ready and waiting for you at some point between 7am and 9am EST 5/24. After the new server goes live the old server will still be there, but all new game files will be stored on the new guy.
I feel like this sounds a whole lot more complicated than it really is. Have questions? (I don’t blame you!) Reach out in discord to Canavar or Sinyk and we’ll get you squared away. Link to Discord

This dossier section is intended to be an exact copy of the text in the official dossier. There may be some discrepancies between this text and the in-game Pachyrhinosaurus.
Wild: Pachyrhinosaurus mitisaura is a medium-sized herbivore, found almost everywhere but the island’s mountains. It is generally calm, and ignores all other nearby creatures unless it is attacked, at which point it usually tries to flee.
Domesticated: Pachyrhinosaurus is an excellent starting mount for anyone new to taming. It is fairly easy to train, can carry enough to be a simple pack-animal, and is not as deadly as some of the larger herbivores. Additionally, Pachyrhinosaurus can release its unique chemical on command to protect itself and its rider from nearby predators, or draw attention if desired, making it a potential life saver in a pinch.
Known Information: Of the island’s varied creatures, Pachyrhinosaurus may possess among the most unique survival skills. When threatened, its massive nasal boss releases a chemical into the air that calms other nearby creatures, making them less likely to attack it. Affected creatures are sometimes hungry enough to ignore the effect and humans seem immune to it. Conversely, it can seemingly invert this phenomenon at will and induce creatures to become more aggressive towards it!
Pachyrhinosaurus is a peaceful herbivore that is not aggressive and will spend its time grazing. Similarly to the Triceratops, the Pachyrhinosaurus will charge if a survivor or tamed animal attacks it. However, if the battle seems fruitless for the Pachyrhinosaurus, it will flee and release a chemical to pacify its attackers, allowing the dinosaur to escape and recover. This chemical will not work on humans though.
Like its larger relative the Triceratops, the Pachyrhinosaurus is a burly quadrupedal herbivore with an impressive frill. Unlike the Triceratops, Pachyrhinosaurus has a bony growth called a boss where the trike has its nasal horn. The animal still displays a multitude of horns and spikes on its frill, though none as large or fearsome looking as those on a Triceratops.
This dossier section is intended to be an exact copy of the text in the official dossier. There may be some discrepancies between this text and the in-game Moschops.
Wild: Moschops cibumutante in the wild is a lethargic, cowardly creature that primarily lives in the forests of the island, primarily making its home among the great redwoods of the West. It survives by being extremely flexible in its eating habits and completely averse to fighting. It never starves, since it can eat just about anything. Moschops runs at the slightest provocation, but is still often preyed upon.
Domesticated: What makes Moschops particularly interesting is what it can be trained to do with its eating habits. With a versatile palate and tough teeth, Moschops can be tamed for a unique ability: over time it can be taught exactly which things to gnaw, increasing the likelihood of harvesting that exact resource which its master desires. For example, teach it to prioritize chewing Prime Meat, and Prime Meat will be easier to harvest from the flesh it consumes. Likewise for rare plants materials, and so forth!
Known Information: Just don’t expect Moschops to protect you, though. Even after taming, it will quickly flee when enemies are nearby. Regardless of being fed well, increasing its strength, or how much affection you shower on it — Moschops retains its inherent cowardly nature!
Moschops is a passive, friendly animal that doesn’t take notice of survivors or other creatures, until attacked. When threatened, they will flee, unless if a survivor takes a Moschops egg, then they attack.
Despite its appearance, the Moschops is not a dinosaur or even a relative, but much more closely related to mammals as it is a Theraspid, or mammal-like ancestor. It has a barrel-shaped body to hold the large gut necessary for its varied diet with sprawled-out feet and a short tail. Perched on its body is a short, thick neck with a broad head.
Color Scheme and Regions
The Moschops’s range of its natural color scheme is unknown at this time, however its color regions are available. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Moschops.
This dossier section is intended to be an exact copy of the text in the official dossier. There may be some discrepancies between this text and the in-game Megalosaurus.
Wild: Much like the Island’s other large theropods, Megalosaurus noctedominus is an aggressive carnivore that should not be taken lightly. Unlike most of the other theropods, it is a primarily nocturnal creature. As dawn approaches, Megalosaurus begins looking for a secluded place to spend the day sleeping in relative safety.
Domesticated: While Megalosaurus is not the most powerful theropod, it is still highly sought after by night-raiders. Due to its nocturnal nature, Megalosaurus becomes much more formidable at night – dodging attacks, conserving stamina, and attacking more accurately, to name a few of its enhanced talents.
Known Information: Conversely, if disturbed during the day, Megalosaurus is significantly more sluggish. Either way, however, its primary combat tactic is to bite onto its target, then lock its jaws shut in an iron-strength grip. Only larger creatures can hope to break free once Megalosaurus locks its jaw. The creature then proceeds to gnaw on its prey until death. It’s a terrifying, grisly spectacle to watch, and a formidable tactic for a tribe to employ against more nimble targets.
Megalosaurus is a fierce predator at night, actively hunting many types of animals. However during the day it lies down and falls asleep. While a sleeping Megalosaurus can be approached safely, if touched or attacked it will awaken suddenly. If awoken, it will pursue the player for a short distance and will move sluggishly and its attacks will be weaker.
The Megalosaurus is a nocturnal theropod resembling something akin to a smaller version of the Allosaurus. It avoids competition with its fellow large theropods by hunting at night, striking at herbivores or survivors when they are at their most vulnerable. Uniquely among ARK’s large carnivorous dinosaurs, it is feathered.
This dossier section is intended to be an exact copy of the text in the official dossier. There may be some discrepancies between this text and the in-game Achatina.
Wild: Found mostly in marshes and jungles, Achatina Limusegnis is a very slow, very non-threatening land mollusk. It might be the safest creature on the island to hunt and while it only provides a small amount of meat and chitin, an easy meal is always good on the island.
Domesticated: There is a very disgusting, but useful, fact about Achatina that causes tribes to seek to tame them: its secretions are chemically similar to the ‘Cementing Paste’ used by many tribes for building materials. Tamed Achatina naturally build up this slime over time, which can then be collected at the tribe’s convenience.
Known Information: Unlike nearly every other creature on the island, Achatina does not defecate normally. Instead, it secretes a thick sticky substance. Achatina leaves trails of this slime, but the trails are so thin that they crumble to dust quickly.
Achatina are one of the few truly docile species on the island.
Achatina are quite large for their genus, being approximately 60-90 centimeters (2–3 feet) tall when full grown. Their shells are very ornate with streaks of bright color and sharp ridges that provide, some, protection from the island’s predators. The vulnerable soft skin of the Achantina’s body can also be very colorful.
Canavar will be organizing some server cave diving to check out the changes to the new caves. Make sure to check out the calendar to see if you can join in the stupidity!
With the new cave designs and changes, it is time to go explore and do something stupid. We will be meeting up between 8:30 and 9:00pm ET and will travel to the cave just east of the volcano. Bring food, water, weapons, armor, and lots of sleeping bags as we explore and get eaten by the cave dwelling nasties. We will be going in on foot and without dinos. If you have any questions let Canavar know.
Thanksgiving is upon us and today, Patch 252 brings a feast of new content to ARK: Survival Evolved! New friends will be making an appearance as four new creatures will become available to discover and tame, including the slimy Achatina, nocturnal hunter Megalosaurus, harvesting-specialist Moschops and the pheromone-spewing Pachyrhinosaurus!
Achatina Limusegnis, slow and steady, that’s the best way to describe the Achatina. A land mollusk standing about 2-3 ft tall, prized by local tribes, the Achatina is often captured and tamed for its glue-like secretions, which can be used as an adhesive when building various structures. It is also reverence for its uncanny ability to create an organic, incredibly strong, lightweight plates that can be shaped and then heat treated into casings for anything.
Megalosaurus Noctedominus, the scary nighttime predator Megalosaurus is a beast that causes both survivors and other land creatures to fear the dark. Megalosaurus is a voracious carnivore and is often trained for use in night-time raids against other survivor camps. Due to its ferocious strength exhibited during the night, it sometimes finds itself recovering or sleeping during the day. However be warned, as it is a light sleeper and will wake with tremendous anger is disturbed during rest.
Moschops Cibumutante, defines fear, as in fear-ful, since the slightest provocation sends it running. This dino’s “special ability” is that it can eat just about anything and do just fine. This makes it particularly useful when domesticated and trained to eat specific materials – for example, teach it to focus on chewing a specific material, and that resource will become easier to harvest. Just remember that everything scares this breed of dino and it will flee without hesitation, so be cautious when taming it!
Pachyrhinosaurus Mitisaura, an easy-to-train mount for new riders, its ability to produce a calming “scent” when in danger, helps keep survivors safe. The Pachyrhinosaurus can also reverse the effect of its scent cloud, making nearby creatures incredibly aggressive, which is sometimes useful in attacking other camps. …but that’s not all!
Patch 252 also introduces a vast redesign of the original caves on The Island! Bringing them up to par visually, as well as introducing more gameplay elements to acquiring those artifacts! Seasoned explorers will want to give these a whirl as it is an entirely new experience with much to be unravelled!
Along with the launch of patch 252 comes even more content goodness:
ARK: Turkey Trial 2! New challenge and cosmetics! Earnable Emote! (this system also enables Mods to add more Emotes to the game!)
New Mechanic: Breeding Phase 3 with Random Mutations and Family Trees.
VFX Indicators for Whistle Commands: Move To, Attack, and Group-Selected Units.
Explorer Notes: Two new mythos Explorer Notes for each character
A huge increase in server performance
Whistle Ordering Groups! Create groups by class, or specific-dino!
New Whistle Type: “Move To”, Attack, and Group-Selected Units.
Extra Option to “stream” in “Far” map sublevels, for large memory and performance gains (but reduced visual quality & draw distance).
Turkey Trial 2
ARK’s biomes are now host to savage, blood-thirsty mutant Super Turkeys. Players can hunt these brutal birds of prey, harvesting their wishbones and using them to craft an event-exclusive ornamental “Chieftain Headdress”, or use their poultry-powered gains to summon the mighty DodoRex to do their bidding. This year’s Turkey Trial will feature something all new – an event-specific “emote” for players to unlock, and will take place on all official ARK maps including Scorched Earth, The Center, and The Island!
Enjoy the patch everyone, we wish you a happy Thanksgiving and an adventurous exploration!
